Mitre Inn, Chipping Barnet : ウィキペディア英語版 | Mitre Inn, Chipping Barnet
The Mitre Inn is a public house in the High Street, Chipping Barnet, London. It is possibly the oldest remaining of the town's coaching inns, having been established by 1633 and probably earlier.〔("Medieval and Post-Medieval Activity at Victors Way, Barnet." ) by Catherine Edwards in ''Transactions'', London and Middlesex Archaeological Society, Vol. 58, 2007, pp. 141-150.〕 Chipping Barnet was famous for its coaching inns, acquiring the nickname of the "Town of Inns". It lies on the Great North Road, of which High Street, Chipping Barnet, forms a part. By 1817, 150 coaches a day were passing through the town. == References ==
